A Symposium in Print (SiP) is a novel concept developed by the European Journal of Mass Spectrometry (EJMS) to enable the entire scientific community to contribute to a special issue of the journal on a particular topic. Papers for the special issue are made freely available in a pre-publication form and all “delegates” are invited to contribute to discussion of these. The discussion is edited and published along with the papers in a print issue of EJMS and on the web. All those who have contributed to the discussion will be able to buy a copy of the issue at a preferential rate.

To get involved, you first need to register for the SiP, which is free. Once you have registered, you will have access to the Discussion Area where you read what others have said about the contribution and add your own comments. All discussions are moderated and you are required to be courteous and appropriate in your postings. Provided that you have not disabled it in your “Profile”, you will receive e-mails whenever a new comment is posted to the SiP.
